Old Soul Single Barrel Private Selection (Goody Goody)

My initial tasting was in a small plastic cup from a good friend, followed by a pour in a nice Glencairn glass; neither experience was disappointing. The rye is prominent and shines through, providing a good balance between herbal notes and rich candied corn. There's a slight warmth on the finish, but the dominant balancing characteristics linger for a long time. This is an excellent bottle that deserves more recognition. I hope Cathead distillery maintains this standard for future offerings.

Quite unique. It's mellow and a touch sweet, carrying flavors of caramel, vanilla, and some soil-like undertones.
