Wendy Hurley 4.3

The nose has sweet notes of rum and creamy oak, ripe fruit, smoke, hints of leather and dark chocolate, all becoming richer as it breathes. It is quite exquisite on the nose, the one year in rum casks not seeming like much but definitely proving it is enough. The palate is slightly peppery, as rum, dark chocolate and creamy oak fill the mouth in a wonderfully chewy fashion. It doesn't need much more than that as each flavor is distinct and bold, and despite its high alcohol content it does not come across as too hot to enjoy as is. It is quite delectable and makes the perfect dessert. The finish is medium long and smooth, with sweet notes of rum lingering in the mouth as the rest gently fades away.
