The nose was dominated by alcohol and ethanol, making it very difficult to discern any specific scents. Certainly, being in the hottest rickhouse and on the highest floor, it holds that heat. It delivers a swift jolt of warmth that quickly subsides into the typical Old Forester profile. It's quite unique how the initial intensity, like mouthwash, immediately smooths out. Standard oak, vanilla, and caramel notes for Old Forester are present. Adding a cube completely removes the initial intensity. Excellent for novice drinkers and almost underwhelming, but that's expected for an 11-year-old, especially at only 95 proof.
