The aroma has strong hints of butterscotch, vanilla, and toasted oak, with softer notes of chocolate-covered oranges and strawberry jam. Quite pleasing. The taste begins creamy with caramel and vanilla, then shifts to more floral and citrus flavors like rose and lemon. The finish is rather subdued for a 100 proof, well-aged bourbon, but it does reveal new oak, barrel char, leather, and earthy tobacco notes. A few drops of water bring out more oak on the palate and make the bourbon sweeter with additional vanilla. Cinnamon spice appears in the finish. Overall, it's a great bourbon. It's distinctive like the other decanter series bottles, but this one doesn't quite stand out like the 13 and 14 year old versions.

Ellis Wylie 4.5

Consumed neat. The aroma is butterscotch and oak. The taste is sweet caramel at the start with a touch of spice, leading to a sweet finish with a hint of lingering spice. It's my favorite among the Old Fitzgerald expressions I've tried.

Lawrence Soria 4.5

Simply wonderful. Enjoying it at the Distillery in Kentucky. High spice and warmth. Dark brown sugar, caramel, and all the spices. A big, comforting warmth without being harsh. A special experience.

Luca Fogle 4.0

I really enjoy the apple, raisin, caramel, and vanilla notes, but there's a lot of oak. Honestly, it's a little harsh, but still a good drink. Likely not worth the cost.

Lori Huang 5.0

A nutty flavor, very smooth, and a clean finish. A slight warmth at the end. Tasted with a friend during a distillery tour.

Meaghan Birch 4.5

Smells like butterscotch, barrel spices, and some wood. Lingers smoothly with a touch of chocolate. Very good, though it has passed its peak age.
