Old Fitzgerald 14 Year Bottled In Bond Bourbon (Red Label VVS 2018)

This possesses as much flavor as any 100 proof bourbon I've encountered. It has everything: a wonderful aroma, a coating texture on the palate, a complex taste, and an almost perfect finish. I detect some fruitiness, honey, oak, and a touch of leather that seems to carry from the nose to the finish. The way the flavors meld is truly remarkable. The only drawback to this bourbon is that the finish is relatively short, though it is extremely pleasant and free of any alcohol burn. While I'm a fan of high-proof spirits, this is as good as a bourbon gets at 50% ABV.

The aroma presents pleasant oak initially, complemented by cinnamon, smooth vanilla, and caramel, with a subtle fruitiness in the background. The oak and cinnamon blend harmoniously on the palate, leaning more towards cinnamon, while the vanilla and caramel provide balance. Oak remains in the mouth as the cinnamon fades, leaving a pleasant tingle for a nice, long finish.

Aroma of sweet maple syrup. The sweetness persists throughout the taste, alongside cherry fruitiness and cinnamon. Minimal burn. It resembles Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. No need to add ice or water. A commendable bourbon.

Complex and well-balanced notes of maple, char, and spices. Drinkable all day. Sweet, but not excessively so.

Full of flavor and exceptionally balanced. The 100 proof alcohol content contributes to an excellent drinking experience.
