Nose: Ripe dark berries, caramel, and creme brulee. It starts somewhat muted and then opens up in your glass. It presents a traditional wheated bourbon aroma, executed superbly. Palate: Wonderful dark berries like ripe blueberries and raspberries. Vanilla cream is slathered on top, drizzled with gooey caramel, like a chewy, gooey Bullseye candy. This is dangerously good and could become a new favorite under $100 sipper if it becomes more accessible. Finish: The finish is long and even. It concludes with that vanilla cream, Bullseye candy taste. Overall: This is a superb addition to the Heaven Hill collection. It truly excels. The presentation is also outstanding. This offering could rival Weller 12 (for a delicious wheater) and Blanton's (for its presentation) and might even surpass your expectations! I'm very pleased they've brought this back as a potentially everyday offering at a reasonable price. If you thought the value-to-quality ratio of Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond was impressive, this surpasses it.
