Jaden Grove 4.0

Chessmen 1969 Smells like brown sugar, buttered toast, dark caramel, plums, aged wood, spiced honey, and graham crackers. Taste is a rush of mature oak, vanilla sweetness, a hint of whipped cream, brown sugar, lemon cream, and the scent of old books. Lingers with vanilla, aged oak, and lemon cookies. It’s decent. It’s lighter and more subtle than I expected. The barrel aging is definitely apparent. It’s also clear this isn't a modern pour, with plenty of aged wood and vintage book notes. The finish is borderline short to medium, and it's not the most intricate. Given all the buzz for this pour, I’m a bit let down. I also find myself comparing it to other famed old bottles. While Wild Turkey CGF is far superior, I still prefer it over 70s OGD 114 or 86. Overall, I wouldn’t buy a bottle, particularly given the cost.

Lonnie Beyer 5.0

The aroma is smooth and floral, with licorice, caramel, oak, and anise. The palate is rich and coats the mouth with brown sugar, oak, buttery custard, and baking spices, all deep and perfectly balanced. The finish is long, with a slowly fading oakiness that's buttery, accompanied by underlying baking spices and brown sugar. Absolutely remarkable.

Cohen Noe 4.8

Dark brown liquid with a clear sherry/port aroma. Initial notes of caramel and oak give way to a mild anise spice that is smooth. It feels silky in the mouth, with a faint brown sugar undertone.

The most pleasant aroma I've ever encountered!! Butterscotch, pecans, caramel, baking spices!! The flavors burst on your tongue and continue through to a fantastic finish!!
