Old Carter Straight Bourbon Batch 8 (2021 Release)

Nose: The initial aromas are... green. I imagine a meadow and a small body of water. After it airs out and I take a first sip, I detect more of the oak and classic bourbon scents. It's very intriguing to me. I can't get enough of the aroma. Color: Deep. (I'm still learning about color, so, yes, it looks very nice, clear, deep amber. A very appealing color.) Legs: Thick. They descend slowly, very slowly. And they are thick. Does this indicate an oily texture? Palate: (I'll need to update this later - ) it's excellent. I've been trying to discern the difference between superior bourbon and average bourbon. The most certain indicator for me is the "purity" of a sip... On the finish, or at least at the back of my throat, average bourbon ($24-60) leaves a harsh, bitter taste. It might be burnt, perhaps.... This one doesn't have that; it's clean all the way down. Such an unadulterated taste.

A very potent spicy kick that imparts a pleasant woody flavor from the barrel. Delivers a very, very strong impact in the finish. The initial taste is surprisingly enjoyable.

Incredibly sweet, vibrant, and succulent, it made my mouth water with every taste. Flavors include citrus, honey, apples, orchard fruits, sweet caramel, and candy corn.

Distinctive taste. A small splash of water amplified the butterscotch notes, alongside the expected MGP flavors.

Honey and molasses, gives a sense of thickness.
