Old Carter Straight Rye Batch 2 (2018 Release)

Nose: Maple, buttery pie crust, caramel, brown sugar, cardamom, cinnamon. Palate: Baking spices, dusty oak, cinnamon, peaches, pecans, caramel. Finish: A long, drying, and spicy finish with notes of pecans, baking spices, and dusty, aged oak. This is a powerful spirit. Bold and spicy throughout. The nose is wonderfully rye-forward, with maple and buttered pie crust notes providing a balanced sweetness. The palate is unmistakably rye, featuring baking spices, aged dusty oak, and abundant caramel. A long finish completes this impressive, bold, and flavorful rye.

This tastes as good as, or even better than, the first batch of Kentucky Owl rye.

Excellent rye, sweeter than batch 3 and less harsh than batch 3.

Lemon pastries and lemon curd, with maple and baking spices.

I really enjoyed this; it was very smooth and easy to drink.
