Following a 5-star Old Carter 27 year single barrel from Kentucky and a 5-star 13 year American batch 4, I eagerly awaited this single barrel bourbon from the same maker. The aroma presents toasted pecans, deep vanilla caramel, apricot preserves, warm cinnamon rolls, leather, and oak. The palate mirrors the aroma, adding cherries jubilee, with a moderate body and a medium finish leaning towards a slightly bitter oak, though not unpleasantly so. This is a tasty and pleasant pour. While not as remarkable as the previous two, it's still a good drink. I would hesitate to pay $200 for another, as other options at that price point offer more. However, unlike some other overpriced bottles, I don't regret this purchase and wish I could return them.
