The aroma leads with burnt wood, toasted bread, smoke, leather, and the slightest hints of baking spices. It doesn't reveal much, sparking curiosity for the initial taste. It remains largely unchanged, except for some floral notes that eventually appear; otherwise, it stays consistent. The palate begins with a spice explosion, supported by dried flowers as it expands across the mouth. It has a certain thickness that sustains the spice in a very pleasing manner. Subsequent sips reveal a pleasant touch of smooth wood and brown sugar. Everything blends together in excellent harmony. This is an exceptionally well-made whiskey, not diminishing or weakening at all. Each taste is as good as the one before. The finish is of medium length, substantial, and smooth. The mouth becomes accustomed to the spice, allowing one to truly appreciate all the subtleties. It is quite delightful and dangerously easy to drink. Truly outstanding for a six-year-old bourbon.
