About this bottle

Texas-based whiskey brand Oak & Eden employs an "in-bottle finishing" technique, which involves adding a 5-inch spiral-cut wood piece, known as a spire, into a fully matured whiskey bottle. The 4 Grain & Maple expression utilizes a four-grain bourbon (55% corn, 18% rye, 22% wheat, and 5% malted barley). Subsequently, a spire crafted from American oak soaked in maple syrup is placed within the bottle. This product is available for a limited duration, commencing March 2023. (SRP $59.99)

The aroma of maple is present, with a sweet, breakfast-like scent. On the palate, the maple sugar is more subtle, emerging in the finish with a lingering syrup taste. The 90 proof is appreciated, enhancing the bourbon character and allowing it to stand out. We thoroughly enjoyed this at the GSN offices, finding it excellent as a shot, sipped neat, or as the foundation for classic cocktails like an Old Fashioned.
