This bottling is among the initial two from the "Nikka Discovery" series introduced to the US market. The series highlights techniques Nikka has refined since its establishment in 1934, leading up to its 90th anniversary in 2024. This particular expression explores the potential of creating a non-peated whisky from the distillery, which is historically recognized for its peated offerings. A wonderfully evocative aroma of oak, malt, and plum. This character carries onto the palate, which is very fruit-forward. Notes of black cherry, strawberry, green apple, or plum occasionally emerge in the spirit. The finish is quite lengthy with a rich finality. An expertly crafted blend.
