Nikka Yoichi Moscatel Finish (2017 Release)

This whisky features a distinct earthy, mushroom-like peat, reminiscent of black truffle. This is layered with tropical fruits such as mango, kiwi, and passionfruit, creating a truly unique character. It's akin to enjoying black truffle shavings over pasta, followed by a mango cheesecake. Grateful for the small sample enjoyed this afternoon with a friend during Christmas lunch. This bottling is reportedly exclusive to Japan and limited to only 500 bottles.

An incredible tropical fruit blast! This is likely my top pick out of the manzanilla, moscatel, rum, and Apple Brandy cask finishes. Smell: Oranges, figs, sultanas, pineapples, mangoes, Luxardo cherries, prunes, dates, almonds, sunflowers, yuzu, passionfruit, watermelon. Taste: Toffee, honey, figs, smoke, salted caramel, Luxardo cherries, raspberries, dark chocolate, wildflowers, lavender, yuzu, grapefruit. Aftertaste: Oranges, pineapples, Luxardo cherries, salted caramel, honey
