About this bottle
Many Scottish distilleries have ceased operations since the 20th century and are now considered "lost." The Lost Distillery company reconstructs these historic distilleries by examining distillery log books and conducting extensive research into grains, water sources, barrel types, and distilling techniques. Stratheden, situated in Auchtermuchty, Fife, was operated by three generations of the Bonthrone family from 1829 to 1926. This distillery used an uncommon strain of 6-row barley, dried with peat from Orkney, and was recognized for its exceptional water source from the Eden River. This recreated version of Stratheden Vintage is a blend of malts aged between 15 and 38 years.
