About this bottle

Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado" and its character Fortunato, who meets his end entombed in sherry casks, this rye whiskey is named in his honor. It is crafted from 100% malted rye sourced from Deer Creek Malthouse and matures in new American oak, with a subsequent finishing period in sherry casks.

Ora Hammer 4.0

Teallt, quite good. However, it still feels like something is lacking. I'm not entirely sure what. Perhaps something in the body or finish. The beginning and taste are fantastic, but it's almost dry in flavor, which is unexpected. Still, fantastic nonetheless.

Otis Sanborn 3.0

A sherry cask finish. It leaves a peculiar aftertaste.

Holden Scherer 5.0

Spicy, smoky, with a fruity aroma.
