Appearance: In my tasting glass, this blended American whiskey presents a light yellow, sweet corn hue. After swirling, the legs appear quite thin and watery. Nose: My first whiff leads to an immediate sense of sweetness. Further investigation reveals hints of caramel, spun sugar, Sour Patch Watermelon, and even a touch of carrot cake with its cream cheese frosting. Taste: The mouthfeel is balanced with only a slight bite. The flavors aren't as strong as the aroma, but I pick up notes of oak, almond, salty pretzel bread, blackberry, and a smoky char reminiscent of BBQ (likely from the eight charcoal filters used in its creation). Finish: The finish is brief, leaving a persistent dry, sour sensation at the back of my throat. Thoughts: Within the realm of "Blended American Whiskey," I've found that, based on my experience, these products tend to be quite variable. While I generally enjoy other categories, this one feels more unpredictable, potentially being either excellent or quite poor. That being said, I'm pleased with this particular whiskey. While it might not be the absolute best or earn a top rating from me, it's a solid drink I'd happily consume.
