It felt like my mouth was just struck by a vehicle. Intense spice and vanilla, with the cider cask lending brightness. Lively and effervescent, remarkably distinct. Medium-bodied, and a bit one-dimensional with the light cider flavor, but that particular dimension is rarely encountered. Very high proof, may require dilution.

The aroma has notes of must, cardboard, a touch of flowers, and strong cider, with no harshness. The nose is appealing. The palate offers bitter chocolate malt, cinnamon, and cacao nibs. There's some sweetness, followed by a cough syrup note at the end, but the bitterness is predominant. A long, warm finish. 6/4/2020
