Aroma: Offers notes of raisin, grassiness, pear, a musty quality, and a hint of oak and vanilla, though it's quite subdued. Taste: Begins softly, unfolding into a variety of intriguing, developing flavors including hay, pear, bitter mustiness, a touch of medicine, and oak. Finish: Concludes with tastes of bitter pear, oak, and malt. This is unlike anything I've experienced before. It's interesting, complex, and slightly off-putting. Edit: As I continued to sample it, I felt compelled to revise my rating from 3.75 to 4.0. The flavors became more appealing, and I grew to appreciate its complexity more and more.

The nose definitely carries caramel, almost reminiscent of aged rum with its vanilla notes. Upon the first taste, I detect brown sugar and vanilla, followed by more oak and dried fruits after a second sip. The finish leaves a subtle fruity and brown sugar taste. A very fine whiskey. Highly recommended.
