Established in 1703, Mount Gay is recognized as the world's oldest rum distillery. The Mount Gay 1703 Old Cask Selection Rum commemorates the distillery's founding in Barbados by blending rums aged between 10 and 30 years. Mount Gay is known as the "sailor’s rum," attributed to the frequent maritime traffic at Barbados as ships traveled between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean trading routes.

A bold rum from Barbados, mixed with reserve rums aged 10 to 30 years. It begins aromatically with hints of caramel, oak, spices, fruits, molasses, and honey. Its rich body introduces caramel, sweetness, oakiness, vanilla, spices, and smoke, culminating in a long and gentle finish. June 2017 / March 2018
The initial wood taste strongly resembles milder whiskies and it gives the impression of an old-fashioned drink. Whether you drink it straight for that bold kick or mix it with minimal cola, it feels more substantial than most rums. It’s quite tasty and worth trying.
