Nose - The peat and chocolate malt blend nicely here, creating a smoky-sweet middle ground where they contend. It evokes the sensation of being at a petting zoo. A friend's observation was, 'it's like a mechanic in a carpet store.' Taste - While chocolate malt doesn't inherently contain chocolate, there are distinct chocolate notes present, accompanied by a whisper of smoke. The lingering aftertaste is precisely like finishing a bowl of Cocoa Pebbles. Finish - It certainly has a bit more burn than the other offerings from Motor City tonight, but in a positive way. It fades quickly, but you perceive a slight numbness on the sides of your tongue. Score - 3.5 Scoring Guide 5.0 - Nearly perfect; this whisky possesses something truly special. 4.5 - Amazing; I would always aim to keep a bottle of this in my collection (if possible). 4.0 - Very Good; perhaps only one minor flaw prevents it from a higher rating. 3.5 - Good; thoroughly enjoyable to drink. 3.0 - Solid; I wouldn't go out of my way to obtain it. 2.5 - Mediocre; still drinkable. Below 2.5 - If you have a bottle, consider using it for cooking instead.
