About this bottle
Mosswood sources whiskeys from various distillers and then applies unique cask finishes in Berkeley, California. The whiskey featured in this bottling is a light-bodied spirit, predominantly corn-based, originating from Indiana and matured for seven years in used bourbon casks. Mosswood then further aged this whiskey in a barrel that had previously contained apple brandy. For context, a "light whiskey" is distilled at a proof between 160 and 190, whereas bourbon cannot exceed 160 proof. This type of whiskey can be aged in used or new, uncharred oak barrels.
