This Mortlach single malt was bottled by the independent producer Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Rare Vintage collection. It was distilled in 1954 and bottled in 2012, having matured for 58 years in a first-fill sherry butt. A total of 347 bottles were produced.

Incredible! It has a wonderful old oak and sherry character filled with dark and dried fruits, chocolate, cured meat, and spices. Nose: Rum-soaked raisins, milk chocolate, cured meat, cherries, prunes, dates, nutmeg, oranges, cinnamon, strawberries, beef, raspberry jam, lavender, lychee, figs, leather, tobacco Palate: Raisins, leather, tobacco, dark chocolate, oranges, prunes, figs, beef, sour cherries, maple bark Finish: Beef, salted toffee, dark chocolate, cured meat, leather, papaya, raisins, prunes, hazelnuts, cashews, nutmeg, cinnamon
