A sweet honey aroma with dried summer grass and a very faint peppery smoke. The initial taste is a bit sharp, like biting into a hot chili, which then becomes a sweet gingerbread with fruitiness. The bourbon cask influence appears in the finish with a lasting vanilla and toffee. A well-presented Mortlach that keeps the spirit's character prominent. It would have scored higher, but it's a little too strong for my preference.

Wonderful character. Quite floral and refreshing. A whisky reminiscent of Chablis.
