Milam & Greene Single Barrel Straight Bourbon

This single barrel was from cask #454, with only 280 bottles sourced. A sourced whiskey from an undisclosed Tennessee distillery, bottled in Texas. Light color; sweet, floral nose; light, floral with a touch of fruit and honey on the palate; nothing special to me on the chew; unimpressive tanginess on the finish that contrasts with the lighter, sweeter, smoother palate; not terrible, it can be enjoyed, but overall I can't get excited about it.

Notes: Tastes like pineapple upside-down cake. Alcohol smell. A little off. Smells like gasoline on a finger. Smells like Froot Loops before the coloring is added. Taste: The alcohol smell carries into the flavor. Think of the layers of a peanut shell: the hard outer layer, the soft inner layer, and the nut. This tastes like that soft inner layer. Finish: The taste lingers all the way down.

Nose of oak, pear, cinnamon, and cherry is a bit lacking. The palate is sweet and fruity with cherry, cinnamon, and char notes. The finish is short and sweet. It's very smooth and pleasant, but the overall impression is weak.

Having notes of wheat, a light sweetness, and also some delicate spicy undertones. It's smooth and creamy, with a pleasant texture.

Very mellow from beginning to end, with notes of oak and a subtle nuttiness at the finish.

I'm not usually big on bourbon, but this one really appeals to me. It's incredibly smooth with notes of oak.
