Eager to try this bottle. Sampled it neat. The aroma is delightful, featuring notes of caramel, vanilla, oak, brown sugar, and I definitely detect the old-fashioned root beer candies, along with a hint of cinnamon and clove. On the palate, it's smooth with just the right amount of spice, presenting flavors of clove, cinnamon, red hots, ginger, pears, and toasted marshmallows. It tastes like Christmas in a bottle and a spicy gingerbread house. My lips and tongue feel slightly tingly. The legs on my glass are beautiful.

About this bottle
In 2014, Michter's launched its Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon, establishing the toasted barrel finish category. The distillery transfers fully matured Michter’s US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon into a secondary barrel made of 18-month air-dried wood staves for extra aging; this barrel is toasted, not charred. This 2024 edition, bottled at 91.4 proof, will be available starting in September 2024.

Flawless harmony throughout! This particular expression was a special discovery, and the value at $80 was incredible; I had no idea of its quality! The aroma presented barbecue and vanilla, while the palate offered spice, vanilla, and toasted marshmallow.
Aroma: toasted oak, root beer, leather, vanilla, brûléed caramel, cherry, apple. Palate: smooth, heavy toast, spicy wood, leather, vanilla, ash, caramel. A spicy, toasty finish. My thanks to a friend!
Oak with sweet and spicy notes, like fruit gum with a hint of black tea. The toasting creates a surprisingly long finish for a 91 proof spirit.
The perfect blend of sweet and spicy, offering a complex flavor. My preferred among the special Michter's releases, and I'm a big fan of Michter's.
Aroma: maple, oak, a hint of apricot Taste: toasted, smoky, vanilla, oily or buttery, cherry or red apple
