Michter's had a remarkable 2023 with its 10 Year Bourbon, 10 Year Rye, Toasted Barrel Rye, and capped it off with the 25-year bourbon. An astonishing experience that I wasn't prepared for, but I embraced it, and it was quite a journey. The aroma was rich oiled leather, dates, cinnamon, clove, wintergreen, and the general scent you encounter upon entering a tobacco shop. Flavor/taste included canned peaches, more of that date note shifting towards figs and raisins, well-worn leather that has seen excessive sun, and all the typical baking spices. The finish lingered inside your mouth like a determined rodeo rider refusing to dismount from their leather steed. Sweetness and a slight funky/earthy quality persisted until palate rinsing because it wouldn't let go. Remarkable
