About this bottle

Jose Lucas, a third-generation distiller, produces this mezcal for the Lucas family in San Isidro Guishe, Miahuatlán, located in southern central Oaxaca. It is a blend of fair-trade Madrecuishe and Espadín agave, cultivated without pesticides. The Madrecuishe was about 15 years old at harvest, while the Espadín was approximately 8 years old. Both agave types are roasted together in clay ovens heated by steam, a method intended to reduce lumber usage and prevent charring. The spirit undergoes double distillation and is bottled without aging.
