Meikakuna 100% Japanese Blended Whisky

Nose: honey, crisp fruit, pear, spiced candied apple, golden raisin, herbal notes, hint of a grassy note, barrel spice, cereal notes, slight fume-like alcohol note or thinner note but not strong and pushes aside quickly. Taste: honey, herbal tea-like quality, a moment of herbal bitterness with light fruit notes in the mix, cereal grain mixed with a touch of malt, medium intense peppery barrel spice that lingers for a good moment, light ashy char on the backside of the conclusion. An ok entry level Japanese whiskey, but definitely move up the quality scale in the future to other higher end Japanese whiskeys to have a much better experience in what they have to offer.

While this whisk(e)y might lack complexity, it offers excellent value. It’s a dram you can freely enjoy, neat, on ice, or in a warm drink. Delicious on its own, it’s also versatile and could easily become a go-to inexpensive Japanese standard, comparable to certain well-known brands. It's smooth, sweet, and worth trying.

They give you the right notes: honey sweet beginning, transitioning to mild fruited middle, and then proceeds to a spicy conclusion which flows back into the honey flavors (not so much the sweetness) which linger

My first Japanese whiskey. While not bad, it wasn't great either. I need to explore more in the future but I definitely prefer bourbon more.

A good introductory Japanese whiskey. Reasonably complex with notes of honey, fruit, herbs, and barrel spice. A medium-length finish.

Sweet notes of honey and vanilla. It would work well in a Mai Tai
