During a recent tasting event with a drammers club, we chose from 6 barrels for a club-exclusive selection. We also sampled some older bottles, including this one from the 1940s. Following World War II, some distillers understated ages as many were wary of over-oaked bourbon. This was my favorite older bottling, offering notes of vanilla, caramel, coconut, marshmallow, floral elements, corn, a touch of pepper, and grass.
