MB Roland Still and Barrel Proof Bourbon

AROMA... Pistachios and herbs TASTE is sweet and rich, with mint and other herbal and floral notes. Despite being herbal, it lacks fullness and a lingering finish, particularly for its higher proof. It possesses an almost tobacco-like quality to its flavor, akin to chewing or dipping tobacco. COLOR is similar to a copper penny OVERALL, it's just adequate for me. Like an herbal gin that could have benefited from more time in the barrel. If I were more into Scotch, I might find this more appealing, but unfortunately, I'm not. I wouldn't purchase it again or suggest it......... Trying it again, and it remains a whiskey that tastes every bit as undeveloped as its supposed 2-year age statement. I'm clearly not aware of the actual age, but it tastes exactly as young as I've heard mentioned. Simply not good, it reminds me of all the whiskey or bourbon I've tasted that was aged extremely quickly.

Aroma of malt, charred oak, brown sugar, salted butter sweet popcorn, caramel, chocolate, cinnamon, maple syrup, and tobacco ash. Very distinct, with notes of baked apple pie, burnt banana cream pie, butterscotch, pepper, vanilla marshmallow, lemon, sugar, sour grapes, charred oranges, molasses, coconut, roasted bananas, lemon, mangos, and peanuts. 110 proof. Composition: 78% white corn, 17% rye, 5% malt. Batch 85, barrel new number 4 char. My favorite bourbon.

SB4 New #4 Char, Bottle 6 of 105, aged 2 years, 110.7 proof Nose: snickers bar, caramel, nuts The heat is at the end, not upfront. Earthy, peat moss, caramel, butterscotch. Has the flavor of a Clif Bar. At $65, this is an excellent and intriguing single barrel bourbon. Despite being aged only 2 years, it has complexity and is quite smooth.

This spirit is certainly intriguing. I enjoyed the initial flavor profiles, but the finish wasn't suited to my palate. I felt it resembled a Canadian whisky and scotch more than the bourbon my palate is accustomed to. I appreciated the higher proof and do think it would work well in a mixed drink, but neat, it's just not for me.

A very unique, bold flavor. Corn and vanilla are very prominent. The spice and strength are highly noticeable, even with ice. It's not my absolute favorite, but I appreciate how it differs from typical bourbon.

Hot. Lots of rye in the mash bill. Starts like a normal bourbon: vanilla, caramel, etc. Ends with medicinal cherry and pipe tobacco (maybe). Corn funk lingers on the palate forever.
