Appearance: It's a hazy dark brown, appearing dark amber when held against a strong light. Aroma: Smells purely of freshly ground coffee beans, with a subtle undertone of earthy dark chocolate. Flavor & Texture: It's sweet and rich, yet avoids being syrupy or overly sweet; the sugar content is low, perfectly balancing the coffee's bitterness. Flavors include Demerara sugar, caramel, cocoa, and a touch of vanilla, with some unidentifiable background notes adding complexity. This is a high-quality coffee liqueur that's straightforward and effective. It genuinely delivers the aroma and taste of sweetened black coffee from drip or cold brew. For those familiar with Italian coffee soda drinks like Stappi or Brasilina, it closely resembles them with added neutral alcohol. It's highly enjoyable. It's made with a wheat vodka base from the distillery, and while it reportedly includes foraged botanicals, their presence is very subtle, contributing more to texture than distinct aroma or flavor for me. It's not as intense as Mr Black coffee liqueur (my usual choice), but its more relaxed character feels more authentic. It's very pleasant sipped neat as a liqueur and also makes an excellent espresso martini or black Russian. Recommended. Rating: "Very Good" - 87/100 (4.25 stars)
