Yasmine Vigil 4.0

After lunch, we visited a preferred liquor store outside my usual area and I was drawn to this bottle. A friend's grandson, a bourbon enthusiast even at his young age, would likely appreciate it based on the name. And he did. Pouring an ounce, the aroma fills the space. Butterscotch is prominent, with hints of bubble gum deep within the glass. Regarding the namesake, there is indeed a flavor reminiscent of vanilla cream cake donuts. (I had the grandson spell out 'donut' to ensure a taste, and he confirmed the donut flavor too.) It's not overly complex, but based on past experiences with the barrel stave program, it will likely improve significantly with a few months of aging, if it lasts that long. The alcohol is slightly sharp on the tongue, but it is 109 proof. Setting that aside, caramel apples and butterscotch lead, creating a big and rich profile. The vanilla cream donut flavor lingers in the background and strongly emerges in the finish. Since this seems like it will be a Super Bowl favorite, I think I'll get another to take home and enjoy!
