Maker's Mark Cask Strength Batch 23-01 (110 Proof)

Nose - vanilla - Cinnamon - Faint oak - Slight hint of citrus, orange or mandarin Palate - Intense vanilla, very similar to a fresh vanilla bean - As it rests and develops, the oak becomes a bit more noticeable with just a touch of peppercorn and tobacco - Like the nose, I detect a subtle citrus note on the palate. - No spice Finish - Gentle finish, particularly surprising for cask strength - More peppercorn than cinnamon This is a decent drink, but it lacks boldness or uniqueness. I regret not having a standard bottle of Makers to draw a comparison. 3.9

Aroma: oak, vanilla, baking spices, a hint of cherry Taste: very smooth for its alcohol content. Vanilla, oak, and caramel that are well-integrated. Finish: a quick burst of heat that softens into a smooth vanilla and brown sugar sweetness. My favorite bourbon at this price point and an ideal everyday drinker.

Tasted without prior knowledge. Nose: pleasant combination of wood, baking spices, vanilla, and cinnamon. Palate: begins with vanilla, baking spices, some caramel, and moderate heat. Finish: an intense burst of heat concluding with a long vanilla sweetness.

A decent product from this producer, though it's not really my thing. I consistently detect a rubber eraser aroma and flavor, reminiscent of old-fashioned teacher markers, alongside some cherry and alcohol notes.

Slightly better than the original. A really nice whiskey. The best of both worlds, a little strong and a little sweet.
