Sipped neat from the first pour. Quite eager to try this! I acquired it in a group purchase six weeks or more ago and finally received it. From what I understand, this is essentially a private selection infinity bottle, a blend of selections from many different establishments that contributed. The nose is almost magical... I really like it. It's the best Maker's Mark nose I've ever encountered on first impression. There are so many directions I could go with this. Freshly baked buttery rolls. Vanilla and mint. Cinnamon and clove. Chocolate-covered pretzels. A hint of floral. Caramel apples. It's an explosion of aromas. The nose is amazing. The mouthfeel is creamy. The initial taste on the tongue is oak mixed with rich vanilla frosting. Lots of cinnamon too. It then transitions into a powerful combination of chocolate and coffee. This is followed by notes of cinnamon apples, specifically Granny Smith. The finish has chocolate-covered salted pretzels. Apple lingers. Lots of clove on subsequent sips. So many flavors. I'm not entirely sure if they all work together, though. The experience is all over the place, with significant spikes of sourness and bitterness building up. It's an entertaining journey that I could analyze for a long time. Abundant flavor. It just lacks cohesion. It's like three or four different songs playing at full volume simultaneously. I enjoy each song individually, but they aren't quite harmonizing yet. This might improve with time. I'm eager to revisit it. It's incredibly impressive; this is the most memorable Maker's Mark I've had, alongside RC6.
