The nose offers notes of apple and toffee/caramel. The palate is quite fruity and sweet, almost candy-like, transitioning to a woody finish with a slightly sharp burn that lingers briefly. Overall, this whisky is quite good, possessing a nice equilibrium between sweetness and a degree of depth. It has grown on me during the tasting session as a suitable holiday beverage.

About this bottle
Mackmyra Vinterglöd, part of their Seasonal (Säsongswhisky) collection, has undergone maturation in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, American virgin oak and first-fill casks, and notably, in mulled wine casks. Smells of almond, wood, and citrus. It has a green taste; something fresh I can't identify. There's a lot going on here. Cardamom? Like a sweet bell pepper? It's truly unique. I enjoy it!
A strong cinnamon aroma. Thick and syrupy consistency. A bit of sweetness and woody flavors. A solid, lingering warmth. Quite engaging overall.
Sweet, buttery scent. A pleasant development and fading of spice on the finish. An unusual spirit, unlike most others I've experienced.
Warm, pine, cardamom, oak, and spicy. A very distinct flavor. Mild oiliness. The aroma is very subtle. Complex and refined.
Citrus scent. Very woody, with a pine-like character. Oily texture. Nicely intricate. A warm, smooth aftertaste.
