About this bottle
Released in 2017, this marks Mackmyra's first widely available age-stated release. The single malt is stored 50 meters underground in Mackmyra’s Bodås mine warehouse, maturing in ex-bourbon and American oak ex-oloroso sherry casks. More than 20,000 bottles were produced, with over half staying in Sweden and the remainder distributed to select export markets.

Smells of grain, slight vanilla, and yeast? The taste is immediately alcohol and spirit, like a fruit brandy. Fruity, sour, bitter. Sweet alcohol in the finish.
Laffy Taffy banana and freshly cut grass on the nose. Vanilla leads into wood spice on the palate. The finish has a lingering heat from the barrel.
Unfortunately, not very impressive. Starts with peculiar woody flavors. Finishes thin and watery.
