Likely the finest whisky I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. A close friend, whose profession involved designing the bottles and labels for Matthew Gloag and this whisky around that time, gave me a bottle of each of the Gran Reserva expressions (dating from 1980-1982, if memory serves) as he was not a significant whisky enthusiast himself. I kind of regret not keeping them as I would be wealthy now, but life is meant to be enjoyed, and these brought considerable enjoyment back then. The Private Eye Edition was also quite good!
