My container arrived damaged, so I proceeded to open it. The aroma of this Longrow 21 is incredible, with many layers. Quince jelly, orange peel, and pipe tobacco are accompanied by spent matches, sea spray, and hints of soot. Delightfully succulent, ashy, and savory, the palate highlights tropical fruits, wood spices, and earthy notes. Pineapple chunks, toasted almonds, and wisps of peat smoke come through in the long and slightly briny finish. It's a guilty pleasure; I recognize this malt's excessive cost, but what a drink! Mild peat, rich and sweet. Not very complex but very good.
