About this bottle
Gordon & MacPhail released this single malt scotch in March 2018 as part of its Private Collection. Distilled on January 3, 1956, this Linkwood bottling represents the last cask from the 1950s held by Gordon & MacPhail and is believed to be the final 1950s cask from the distillery worldwide. It was one of the last casks filled by John Urquhart, the first generation family member of Gordon & MacPhail, prior to his retirement the next month. After maturing for sixty years in a first-fill sherry hogshead, the single malt was bottled at 49.4% ABV. Fifty-three individually numbered, hand-blown decanters were produced, each accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Stephen Rankin.
