Linkumpinch 4 Year Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon

Nose - Overly sweet malt, honeycomb, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, light oak, and moderate ethanol. Palate - Overly sweet malt, orange compote, milk chocolate, gingerbread, apple cobberl, and dark honey. The conclusion is long with overly sweet malt, pralines, peanut brittle, s'mores, and moderate ethanol. I value craft distilleries making their own product, but since I have resided on the Kentucky border for the past 3 years, I have had the chance to sample many lesser-known products. To me, there is a clear pattern. To release younger whiskey that is palatable, they frequently use a higher percentage of malted barley and/or malted rye to add flavor. Consider the Chattanooga Whiskey profile, and you will understand exactly how bourbon/rye taste from many new distilleries in Kentucky. It's acceptable for one pour, but I get weary of that sweet malt profile quickly. If you enjoy it, then there are many cask strength affordable selections in the region.

I can't adequately describe this. It's one of the most distinctive bourbons I've ever tried. My partner mentioned a bacon note; I did notice it somewhat afterwards. It has a bit of burn, which I enjoy.
