This is my first barrel-proof rum, acquired from a local distillery. The nose presents sticky molasses and black bananas. The palate is sweet and fiery, with additional notes of banana and other tropical fruits. The finish has a lingering presence of oak, cinnamon, and allspice. The high proof hits with intense force. Adding a little water, ice, and lime greatly improves it.
