Young (8 months), it's harsh with ethanol and a damp, mossy nose, and lacks character, but adding some water reveals a very brief, unrefined corn syrup sweetness that quickly vanishes into unpleasant heat. Seems like more age would unlock its potential. I support our veterans and purchased 2 bottles, but won't buy more. 'Merica.

A friend gifted me this bottle. I tried it neat. The aroma is sweet, with notes of fruit—specifically pineapple and pears—along with honey and oak. On the palate, it's sweet with hints of tea, honey, vanilla, and a touch of lemongrass.
As others have mentioned, it definitely tastes young. Probably best in mixed drinks. It's good for what it is and the price. It seems like they are aiming for a "Party Whiskey" and it works for that. Always like to support veterans too.
Below Average Bourbon Flavor - The nose is full of fruit notes. On the tongue, apple and pear flavors are prominent and it lasts through the finish. Very little bourbon character is present.
Appearance: Tan gold Smell: Corn, oak, spice, toasted wood, vanilla, and caramel sweetness. Taste: Oak, toffee, spice, and a dry mouthfeel. Aftertaste: Licorice, toffee, spice, dryness, and length.
It scorches your throat, singes your nasal hairs, and obliterates your taste buds. It's only acceptable if intended for mixing with soft drinks. As a bourbon, it's simply dreadful.
