It creates a mouthfeel that is present but lacks body. Finish: a touch of warmth, a dry zest, and notes reminiscent of baking spices. Overall: I genuinely enjoy this! I was unsure of what to anticipate. It presents as a very rye-forward whiskey, hence the strong spiciness, but there's a surprising gentleness that greatly refines it. While I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it at this cost, I would definitely accept a pour if offered.

Review from Whiskies of the World Dallas: This bonded expression of their rye is made with a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% barley. The nose presents chocolatey malt aromas reminiscent of a PayDay candy bar. However, the palate emphasizes the grain, with a brief to moderate finish.

The nose presents floral notes, rye spice, and tobacco. A faint sweet and earthy cigarillo aroma is present, which is unique but enjoyable. Perceived sweetness and a brightness, reminiscent of pickles but not acidic, overshadow the alcohol's intensity.

Tasted blind as part of the Flaviar Advent calendar on Day 18. Quite intriguing. It has a woody character with prominent notes of oak and cedar, complemented by a blend of spices and herbs – I'm detecting notes of curry and dill.

This is the most impressive whiskey from this brand's collection. With multiple accolades, including a double gold medal, this pour is gaining recognition.

A good whiskey, though somewhat pricey. Considering the use of locally sourced heirloom grains, the cost is justified.
