Served neat. Appearance: A pale, almost golden straw hue. Smell: Muted. Notes of caramel, clove, vanilla, and oak. Taste: Exceptionally smooth and gentle, with flavors of vanilla cream, warm spices, and baked goods. This rating is difficult because this bourbon has no flaws, other than being diluted to 80 proof. I'd be very interested to try it at 100 proof, or sample other products from Lawrenceburg bottled at a higher proof. This release is free of any unpleasant tastes or bitterness and is incredibly smooth, but it lacks impact across the board and is overpriced. I believe this contains quality whiskey, but it needs a higher proof to justify the expense.
