Nose: Sweet sherry and campfire smoke, delightful. Palate: Immediate smoke intertwined with developing classic Laphroaig flavors, heavy on the sherry. The taste is robust, simultaneously sweet and smoky, yet not overwhelming, and it lingers or fades gradually. Finish: The finish eventually takes over with distinct smoke that slowly expands, coating my entire mouth. I've never experienced a palate and finish that took so long to mature; it's truly remarkable. Overall: Excellent, with wonderful flavor development and perhaps the best smoke I've experienced.

Nose: sweet, plums, honey Palate: thick, earthy, campfire smoke Finish: long, jammy, campfire ash Very rich, coats the mouth, pleasant ashy smoke.
Justifies the cost! Reserved for the most discerning. Second only to the quarter cask in my opinion.
