King Conde 3.0

Batch 419/08/22. Upon opening, I was curious about what to expect. This is the second 'smoky' whisky from Langatun, a blend of peated and unpeated sherried malt at 46% ABV. Nose: Quite industrial - rubber, glue, a plastic figurine, wet dog (or wolf!?), sherry, some smoke and peat, hints of vanilla, no caramel, and not much sweetness. P.S. The day after the initial tasting, the glue-rubber-figurine notes had mostly vanished. Perhaps the plastic cork closure was the cause? Palate: A good balance of spice, smoke, and some sweetness, with cinnamon present. Finish: Medium length, with spice and smoke. Summary: This is definitely a unique whisky. Don't anticipate Islay-level peat, as the Old Wolf is a moderately peated blend. A pleasant dram for a winter night under a full moon.
