koval bottled in bond rye whiskey

An refined, certified organic and kosher Single Barrel Rye Whiskey from Koval Distillery in Chicago, Illinois, made with 100% rye. Aged at least 2 years in American white oak barrels and bottled at 80 proof. It presents an aromatic beginning with notes of grain, fruit, wood, and spices; its rich and full character adds flavors of maple, candy corn, and honey; concluding with a balanced, medium-length finish of oak, vanilla, rye, and cinnamon. At my go-to spot, Tonic, I had this neat. My nose picked up hints of vanilla frosting, cake, and cream cheese icing on a red velvet cake. The taste is spicy yet velvety. It's wonderfully smooth and tasty. I thought it would be more intense in heat, and I was pleased it wasn't.

Cola and birch on the nose. As expected, the characteristic house style is evident. It has velvety coconut cream and eucalyptus notes. Surprisingly refreshing. A nice warming finish with nougat flavors.
