A well-rounded spirit from Junpei Kanemaru for Kodama Distillery in Kyushu, Japan. It's crafted from 83% local beni-imo purple sweet potatoes and 17% white koji rice, and bottled at 25% ABV. It begins with a full and gentle character, featuring tropical aromas. Its mellow development introduces hints of barley and cooked sweet potatoes. The finish is full and even, with undertones of warming spices. (Satsuma-imo were first brought to Japan during the Edo period.) October 2019 / February 2021
