It softens with air, but each sip leaves the mouth tingling and full of flavor. The cherry and baking spice notes are prominent, making this an excellent whiskey for a powerful, bold drink with a good kick. The finish is long with lingering notes of spice, oak, and cherry, becoming slightly astringent but not unpleasant. There's a chewiness that allows more flavors and spice to emerge before gradually fading.
